Roseland Cottage is a premier example of a Gothic Revival, the first Victorian architecture to come to America from England. In the stitched picture, 1/4 and 3/4 stitches are used to create detailing such as steep pitched gables, Gothic windows, and pointed finials. The back stitch outline gives emphasis and even finer detail, while subtle colour changes are achieved by blending two colors in the needle.
