Support creators

Flosshaven exists to celebrate and support designers and artists.

• Always credit designers when adding patterns
• Do not upload or share pirated charts or copyrighted material
• Link to official or authorized sources when adding purchase or download links

If something should not be shared, please do not share it.

Be honest about AI usage in artwork and the design process

Transparency matters.

• Mark patterns accurately regarding AI usage in the creation of the artwork or design a pattern is based on
• Do not misrepresent AI-generated art or design as handmade or original
• Respect the community’s goal of clarity around AI vs human-created designs

Help people make informed choices.

Keep content accurate and helpful

Flosshaven relies on community contributions, so accuracy matters.

• Add correct pattern details when possible
• Avoid duplicate or misleading entries
• Update information if you notice errors

Share responsibly

• Only upload images you have the right to share
• Do not remove or obscure watermarks or creator attribution
• Be mindful of what is included in photos, including private or personal information

Respect privacy

• Do not share personal information about others
• Do not impersonate other users or designers
• Keep communication appropriate and safe

Follow platform rules

Please do not misuse forms, spam the site, or attempt to disrupt the platform.

What is not allowed

• Harassment or abusive behavior
• Pirated patterns or knowingly sharing unauthorized copyrighted material
• Spam or irrelevant self-promotion
• Misleading or false information
• Attempts to exploit or disrupt the platform

Copyright, copying and similar designs

Flosshaven's pattern database is neutral. The inclusion of a pattern in the database does not represent an endorsement of its originality or a determination that it does not infringe another creator's rights.

Patterns will not normally be removed solely because they share a subject, concept, composition, style, colour palette, or other similarities with another pattern. Flosshaven does not adjudicate disputes over whether one designer was inspired by another.

Flosshaven does not knowingly direct users to unauthorized copies of patterns. Links to sources distributing another creator's pattern without authorization may be removed. In clear cases where a pattern is demonstrably a reproduction of another pattern, such as an essentially stitch-for-stitch copy presented as a separate design, the copied pattern may also be removed from the database.

Flosshaven does not investigate or determine ownership of general ideas, themes, concepts, or common design elements.

If you believe Flosshaven is linking to an unauthorized copy of your work, or that a pattern in the database is a direct reproduction of your work, you can contact us with information supporting your claim.

Enforcement

If these guidelines are violated, Flosshaven may take action to protect the community. This may include content removal, warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent account restrictions.

Flosshaven is still evolving, and these guidelines may be updated as the community grows.
