Pigeon & Puddle

40 count, stitched over 2 strands

This piece was inspired by an early dog walk, when we saw a group of pigeons staring intently into a puddle. This pigeon is deep in contemplation of life's mysteries (and his own reflection). But to keep things lighthearted, he is surrounded by lovely spring flowers and has proper rain boots. The model is stitched on 40 count "Sleeping Bear" linen from Needle & Flax. Stitch count is 102 x 73. Note: I used a few lovely Cottage Garden Threads for this design, particularly in the pigeon's neck feathers and the puddle. There are lots of different ways to get fun effects with these, and I hope you will experiment! Threads Used: DMC - 413, 580, 3371 DMC Color Variation - 4075 (Wheat Field), 41245 (Bonfire) Cottage Garden Threads - Silver Birch, Murray Pine, Nimbus, Scandalous, Shadows The closest DMC for the fabric is 842.
