In Greek mythology, the owl is linked to Athena. She is known as Minerva to the Romans. The Owl of Minerva came to stand for wisdom and learning (maybe from all that reading!), and was often shown on coins alongside the letters 'ΑΘΕ,' short for ΑΘΗΝΑΙΩΝ, meaning 'of the Athenians'. The more you know! This pattern is intended as a bookmark. I finished mine with a purple felt backing and blanket stitch around the edges 😊 Colors & Stitching: Uses 12 DMC colors with no backstitching required. Difficulty: Beginner friendly! Design Size: 32 stitches wide × 111 stitches high Finished Dimensions: • 14 count: 2-1/4" wide × 8" high (5.8cm wide × 20.1cm high) • Pattern also includes measurements for 16 and 18 count Aida. Model Fabric: The pictured design was stitched on 32ct linen by Wichelt-Permin in Prairie Grain (065/76).
