Get your towels, umbrella and sunscreen ready for a relaxing day out to the beach with this sunny design! Soaking in the rays of summer, these sunbathers have got their towels draped on sandy shores and are listening to the lapping of the cerulean waves. Cheryl McKinnon's beach scene is radiating with colour and good vibes, inspiring us to take a vacation to somewhere with a beach to relax on. Beige aida is used to imitate the sand on the beach, adding variation in the depth of stitches. It's a relatively easy design, as it uses only whole stitches and backstitch, so it's great for beginners who are looking to start cross stitching. While thread shades aren't closely similar to others, it's still good practise to keep your cottons organised when stitching to minimise confusion. Why not try a new way of framing? We patched the design onto patterned paper before mounting in a simple shop-bought frame. Easy and cost effective!
