Mindful Greenhouse

Evoking feelings of restoration and relaxation, unwind with this meditative piece of a greenhouse in bloom. For those who have a passion for plants, this blossoming portrait captures an idyllic moment in time that will hopefully inspire you to grow your own greenhouse with a myriad of flowers and foliage. Amanda Butler's design details a woman reading, surrounded by sunflowers, roses and cherry blossoms. She even has a little cat to keep her company during her pastime. The design is worked on ice-blue linen to add depth to the unstitched areas, like through the window panes. Blending is used for seamless colour transitions, so if you're unfamiliar with how to do this technique, then turn to page 33 for our handy how-to. For texture, beads are used in the hanging flower centres. We opted for a moulded white frame for a shabby-chic look, along with a pretty-in-pink mount.
