Pay tribute to the majestic lion by giving this bold portrait pride of place on your sofa! One of the largest, strongest felines in the world, the awe-inspiring lion has long captured the imagination of artists and stitchers alike. With their powerful roar and resplendent manes, the male of the species may seem terrifying to its prey, but to us humans they're an endless source of wonder. Durene's contemporary interpretation contrasts a lifelike rendition of this magnificent beast's striking features with a swirling, stylised shock of curls. Combining bold outlines with a piercing gaze, this work of art is guaranteed to garner compliments galore in your home. This project is worked on 28-count evenweave, and although it uses just 14 different thread shades it will require some skill to assemble. We think a cushion is the ideal way to display your most ambitious stitching in all its glory. And with techniques such as French knots and fractionals, this i s a project you can really sink your teeth into!
