Stitch this pretty design to show off in pride of place in your home, or as a special gift for a lowed one. This quaint country cottage, framed by the most beautiful of blooms, would be a perfect project to get your needle into. We love the soft, gentle colour palette and the way the subtle shading makes the petals and leaves seem so lifelike. Plus, backstitch in complementary colours, rather than black, gives the piece a delicate and refined look. A great make for confident beginners and more experienced stitchers alike, use white aida for a crisp finish. Work outwards from the centre of the design so you're sure to fit it neatly on your aida, with enough fabric border for mounting! And speaking of the mounting... When you've finished stitching, this pretty design would be a wonderful decoration for any spot in your home. Or, it'd be a lovely Christmas pressie for someone special. Frame it in a circular wooden frame, free-standing on a plinth, like ours (see the easy tutorial on page 61), to wish everyone who sees it a 'Home sweet home'. Stitching Time: Approx. 25 hours Type of Stitches: Cross stitch, fractionals, backstitch Ease of Stitching: Advanced beginners Shopping List: - Zweigart 14-count white aida measuring 30x30cm(11-3/4" x 11-3/4") - Stranded cotton as listed in the key - Size 24 tapestry needle - Round wooden frame on plinth, measuring 18cm (7") diameter, from Turnstyle
