Goddess of the hunt, wilderness and wild animals, Artemis is the next Greek deity in our series. In most Hellenic imagery and depictions, the twin sister of Apollo is often seen with her trusty bow and quiver, along with a chariot that is drawn by her sacred animal, the deer, which here is standing proudly behind her. To enhance the elegance of the night, we stitched the design on blue spruce coloured linen. Using three strands for cross stitch helps prevent show through of fabric between stitches. If opting to use a lighter colour fabric instead, you can use two strands as normal. Add sparkle and texture by using metallic threads and seed beads. Displayed in an ornate golden moulded frame with a dark green mount to coordinate, for any lover of Greek myth, this portrait will be admired by all. Stitched by Sandra Doolan
