The human hand is a crazy bit of work-- a multilayered collage of bones, muscles, and tendons that is responsible for just about every activity anyone has ever done.* I tried my best to get these bones n’ muscles as accurate as I could, but— boy howdy, was it a trial! I used both my own hands and as many references as I could possibly find to get things right, but-- if I've misplaced a tendon, drop me a line and let me know! This bookmark was originally made for BAD Stitch's 'Spellbound Stitches vol. 5: the Bookmark Book', as part of the science-themed chapter— what a fantastic collection! And for a good cause, too, raising money for charities that help refugees and migrants. Pattern Details: • This pattern is a digital download: you’ll get a link to download it immediately after buying it. • This pattern does NOT include a guide on how to finish the stitching as a bookmark-- sorry, I fully winged it with mine! Fabric glue, blanket stitches, and a dream. ☁️✨ • Difficulty: moderate. Features whole stitches, quarter- and three-quarter-stitches, and ample backstitching. • Your download will be a PDF file including three different forms of the pattern: color blocks with symbols, color blocks without symbols, and black-and-white with symbols. Additionally, each of those forms has both a full view of the pattern and a view with the backstitching hidden, to make it easier to stitch the 'lower layer' of stitches before adding the backstitches on top. • This pattern includes a color key for DMC thread, and uses 12 different colors. • This pattern measures 73x26 stitches. • If you make this pattern on 28-count evenweave, it will be about 4¾ inches by 1½ inches, and will look like the photo above. If you make it on 14-count Aida, it’ll be the same size, but the quarter-stitches and backstitching may be more difficult to place. *Excepting, of course, any activity requiring travel-- but I think it'd come off a bit different if I were stitching a bunch of pictures of feet.
