Wrought Iron Stitching

Designer Patterns for everyone! As seen in Just CrossStitch Mag! A few years ago, I picked up a kit to entertain myself knowing I’d likely be in the hospital a few days. My mother taught me how to cross stitch when I was young. I’m pretty sure I only made one or two things before putting down my needle in the interest of doing other things. Almost 25 years later, my daughter was almost due and my doctor had just informed me that I’d be induced. Online research about my situation helped me to understand that it was likely I’d be in the hospital for a few days. So I figured it would be a good idea to bring something to do while waiting for my little one to arrive. I didn’t stitch much while I was there, but I did organize all my floss. I completed the kit over the next few months, having so much fun that I decided to get a few more patterns. At the time, my mom had gotten back into cross stitching, so she took me to a bonafide shop... it had been so long since I’d ventured into one. While I could appreciate the designs I saw, I noticed there weren’t many modern designs. Most of what I found would fit into the primitive design category. I found a few things I liked, but nothing I couldn’t do without. A few more months went by and I decided to make a scissors holder. I excitedly sketched out my design on graph paper, charting it out with colored pencils based on the floss I already had on hand. The final piece didn’t end up working out exactly how I’d planned, but it was usable. However, I was inspired to continue designing. I even found an app where I could design from scratch with ease! Finally, I could stitch the modern designs I was looking for all those many months before! In November of 2019, I decided to share my modern take on cross stitching by opening this Etsy shop... initially starting with my snowflake series, continuing with a design for charity, and most recently my calendar series. I offer custom work as well... seeing my customers’ thoughts come to life is such a joy! Now, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t do something cross stitch related. I love seeing my designs stitched and personalized by others. And my daughter? She’s already starting to stitch on her own, with plastic canvas and yarn. 💕 [description taken from their etsy]
