Designer [Description taken from their Etsy] I grew up playing video games with my family. As a clan of devoted nerds, we tore through classics like Mario and Zelda on the many generations of Nintendo systems. Warmly influenced by nostalgia, 8-bit and pixels have always been aesthetically appealing to me. They’re basic and simple, but when organized with intention create a powerful presentation. Once I realized that cross stitching was basically a fiber canvas for pixels, I knew I had to give it a try. I began cross stitching in 2013 as a way to experiment with a new medium. What I discovered was not only a beautiful instrument of design, but a form of therapy. As a highly sensitive person, it was an incredible comfort for me to find a craft through which I could manage my everyday stresses. It wasn’t long before I could be found sitting on the floor at any given social gathering, string and fabrics in hand, stitching away at the next gift for a friend. I loved the idea of being able to present my cynical feelings through a traditionally delicate medium, and I cannot remember a single day in recent history I’ve gone without working on a piece. You could say cross stitching has been woven into the fabric of my daily routine---ba-dum-chh! I opened my Etsy shop in 2015 with the simple hope of making people smile. Beyond my own personal success, it is my hope to inspire others to give needle-craft a try—or, perhaps, to help rekindle a flame that once was. Since the shop launched, the positive feedback has been overwhelming and heartwarming. I cannot begin to thank everyone who has contributed to the outpouring of encouragement. Your support has made it possible for me to do what I love each and every day. In the coming years, I plan to expand my shop as I introduce new and varied products to my catalog.
